Party in the City Where the Heat is On

Will Smith and Miami will always be inextricably linked in my mind, so let’s just get this out of the way now:

Leaving frigid temps to meet up with some of my best friends for a weekend of perfect hot sunny weather and Angela’s bachelorette celebrations was so necessary. At risk of sounding like a broken record, work has been really, really busy lately. Our huge conference is a week and a half away (!!!!) so prepping for that + the normal workload is just…a lot. Catching up with girlfriends, lazing around in the sun and some fun nights out was just what I needed to blow off some steam.

Emily was sadly absent, but I suppose having a baby a few days before was a good excuse.

One day we took a break from laying around on the beach to laying around on a boat. Tropical Sailing took us out on the water for a bit of a tour around Miami, and then found a good spot for us to hang out on big rafts for a few hours.

We had a few fun nights out on the town in South Beach, but of course that’s sort of a what happens in Miami stays in Miami thing…except these, because they’re just too good.

Next up? The big conference in Vegas! I’m hoping to have more blogging time after that so this page should be a little less sad and neglected…until my summer writing class starts up! I signed up for an intro to creative writing class at University of Toronto which is exciting…and a little scary. Beyond this blog I’ve tried to write a couple short stories but keep getting stuck so I’m hoping the class will be a good push. One of my coworkers is pretty sure that all of my classmates will be middle aged women trying to write the new 50 Shades…which would be AMAZING, obviously.
