When I left you last week, our impromptu trip to Niagara Falls was cut short when Stephanie got a flat tire on our way out of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Sadly the rest of the crew had to get on the road ASAP, but Maggie and I had a little time to play and decided to see the sights before heading back to Toronto.
Niagara Falls has never been a must-see for me, but a few weeks before our trip I happened to be sitting on the correct side of a plane to get a view from above, which was pretty amazing!
Seeing the falls from above was nothing compared to the in-person experience. It was also much drier. We approached from the top, where the river is deceptively peaceful. If it weren’t for the mist rising at the top of the falls you would have no idea you’d reached the end of the earth.
Maggie the champ swimmer said no biggie and was ready to dive right in.
Don’t worry, she decided the mist was quite enough water for one day.
We decided you’d have to be crazy to actually go under the falls on a boat.
Wouldn’t want to end up like this guy right?
I’m incredibly happy we stopped. The pictures just don’t do it justice, but here’s my best attempt:
